Queen of Egypt
Nefertiti means, “The beautiful one has arrived.”

Queen Nefertiti, wife of the heretic king Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV), famed throughout the ancient world for her outstanding beauty, remains one of the most well known of the queens of Egypt. The famous statue of Nefertiti, found in a sculptors workshop, is one of the most immediately recognisable icons from this period of history.

She ruled alongside Akhenaten during the eighteenth dynasty (1550-1292 BC). Although she only reigned 12 years, she was one of the most powerful queens to ever rule. Her importance was greatly valued by Akhenaten and he went to great lengths to show her as his counterpart. As queen, she was often shown with the crown of a pharaoh.

It is this great queen that is the inspiration behind Nefertiti the necklace. Tila beads are lined up in concentric semi-circles beneath a flat coin bead. Magatamas and picots in precious tiny seed beads further embellish and add to the luxury and richness of this piece. These exquisite components are then strung together with high quality Swarovski crystals.

A simple twisted tubular herringbone rope suspends 5 components in 3 different sizes. The necklace is then closed with a toggle that continues the theme of the central element.

Nefertiti – Not only has the beautiful one arrived but definitely a necklace fit for any modern day queen.
