The North Star Tutorial
  • DESCRIPTION

For centuries, the North Star, also known as Polaris, has pointed the way for many travellers. Across trackless dry deserts to vast inclement and clement seas, the North Star has always helped many a traveller find their way home.

Known to stay nearly still in our skies while the stars of the entire Big Dipper constellation in the northern sky moves around it. This makes Polaris the most dependable star in the constellation to use as a compass to find the way. Although not the brightest star, estimated to be the 50th brightest, Polaris is bright enough to spot even from suburban skies where stars are often obliterated by our polluted skies.

When you find Polaris in the sky, you know the way north and you can then find your way home.

This year’s Christmas ornament is inspired by the beauty and romance of the North Star. Six sparkling Swarovski chatons on each side form the centre of the star. The “arms” or spokes of the star is made from cubic right angle weave. It is completely self-supporting and is double-sided making it ideal to hang from a Christmas tree.

Give yourself or your family or loved one, the gift of the North Star this Christmas.
Let the North Star be the beacon for them to find their way home to their family and friends this blessed Yuletide
