The Belle Époque era is a period in French history between 1890 to 1915 charaterised by optimism, regional peace, economic prosperity, colonial expansion, and technological, scientific, and cultural innovations. In contrast to the horrors of recent wars, it is often considered the golden age and a time when joie de vivre was experienced to its fullest.

Belle Époque jewelry encompassed three jewelry design periods: Art Nouveau, the Arts and Crafts movement and Edwardian. The Ribbon is a sparkling, pliable band of tiny seed beads forming a ribbon-like band. The band is then embellished with hundreds of tiny sparkling firepolished beads. The Ribbon can be made with or without the “bow”. The Ribbon is further accentuated with decorated tassels ending in delightful tear drop shaped beads.
